After searching through a decade's worth of posts on forgotten blogs and scouring old tweets and forums, Kraft Heinz Canada, Toronto, released three new sauce creations inspired by Canadians: Heinz Tarchup, Wasabioli and Hanch. The new mashups were available across Canada at select grocery stores for a limited time for a suggested retail price of $2.99 (prices vary by retailer).
Tarchup, a mix of tartar sauce and Heinz Ketchup, was shared in a decade-old, late-night tweet by condiment mastermind Arianne from Toronto.
Emma from Toronto turned to an online wedding forum to remove a wasabi and garlic aioli stain on her mother's vintage dress, unknowingly releasing the recipe for Wasabioli.
Canadian Favorites
Four years ago, while looking to subreddits to spice up his pizza order, Deep from Vancouver unsuspectingly shared Hanch, a combination of hot sauce and ranch.
"We've seen incredible success with innovations such as Mayochup and Mayoracha," said Daniel Gotlib, associate director, Brand Building & Innovation, Kraft Heinz Canada. "There's a lot of appetite for Heinz mashups as consumers continue to explore bolder and more unique flavour pairings. Surprisingly, there is a lot of social conversation about condiment mashups and we saw an opportunity to work with our fans in creating mashups that are inspired by them."

Sauce Ventures LLC, Huntington Beach, Calif., already is known for its TRUFF premium hot sauces and pasta sauces. This February saw the brand expand into condiments with TRUFF Mayonnaise.
"We are lucky to have cultivated a strong community on social media where our fans share fun recipes, cooking hacks and more. From the very beginning, mayonnaise has been repeatedly mentioned as an excellent pairing with TRUFF Hot Sauce," said Nick Guillen, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at TRUFF. "Since our customers were already mixing TRUFF with mayonnaise to make spicy dips, spreads, and drizzles, we thought… why not give it a try ourselves and see where our flavor obsession takes us?"
Mayo Meets Mushroom
TRUFF's Mayonnaise is available in two varieties: Truffle Mayonnaise and Spicy Truffle Mayonnaise. Officials say the formula boasts cage-free eggs, 100% sunflower oil and “plenty of black winter truffles.” The offerings are available online at TRUFF.com and exclusively at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide.
"TRUFF's existing portfolio of sauces has seen tremendous success with each launch, resulting in explosive growth at Whole Foods Market," said Christina Pearson, Global Category Manager at Whole Foods Market. "We think TRUFF's new line of mayonnaise will be no different and we are eager to watch as the brand presents its unique, elevated and flavor-packed take on America's best-selling condiment."
