Genius Gourmet Sparkling Protein cans in cart, announcing new flavor and retail partners.

Genius Gourmet Inc., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, extended its Sparkling Protein line with a new Fruit Punch flavor. In addition to Blue Raspberry Lemonade, new Sparkling Protein Fruit Punch offers 30g of protein and 0g sugar in single cans, four-packs and 12-packs. Fruit Punch and Blue Raspberry Lemonade will be available at Sam's Club, Meijer, H-E-B and Target. Blue Raspberry Lemonade also is sold at Costco.

“We created sparkling protein to completely rethink what a protein drink could be,” said Lance Rankin, CEO of Genius Gourmet. “Consumers want something light, refreshing, and functional - and the response has exceeded every expectation."

Protein Power!

PepsiCo Inc., Purchase, N.Y., dropped a limited, online release of Pepsi Prebiotic Soda on Black Friday, November 28, in advance of a 2026 launch. It’s available in Original Cola and Cherry Vanilla flavors with no artificial sweeteners, just 30 calories, only 5g of sugar, and 3g of prebiotic fiber per can.

"At Pepsi, we are experts in great tasting cola – and have been for decades. The launch of Pepsi Prebiotic Cola marks a significant moment in our brand's history and the cola category," said Gustavo Reyna, vice president of marketing, Pepsi. "This breakthrough innovation upholds the iconic taste of Pepsi that people love, now with no artificial sweeteners, lower sugar and functional ingredients. It's an inimitable taste – designed to meet the demands of cola lovers, cola newcomers, and everyone in between."

Prebiotic Boost

Suja Life, San Diego, extended its Suja Organic juice line with three Multivitamin wellness shots: Multivitamin with Fiber, Multivitamin with Magnesium and Multivitamin with Biotin.

Multivitamin with Fiber (Strawberry Citrus) is a good source (3g) of dietary fiber to support digestive health. Multivitamin with Magnesium (Raspberry Ginger) is a good source of magnesium glycinate. Multivitamin with Biotin (Mango Turmeric) delivers 500% of the recommended daily intake of biotin. All serve as an excellent source of vitamins A, C, E, and a full spectrum of energizing B-vitamins.

Drink Your Vitamins

NEW! Monster Energy flavors: Orange Dreamsicle (with melting ice cream) and Electric Blue cans.

Monster Beverage Corp., Corona, Calif., said it was “turning up the flavor” last October with two full-sugar additions: Monster Energy Electric Blue and Monster Energy Orange Dreamsicle. Both flavors feature 100% real sugar and no high fructose corn syrup.

"With this new Flavors line, we wanted to deliver bold and exciting options to fans who want full flavor, full sugar, no compromises," said Dan McHugh, Global CMO of Monster Energy. "Electric Blue and Orange Dreamsicle both bring that nostalgic feel yet taste incredibly new – all loaded with our legendary energy blend."

Monster came back last November with a Wild Passion flavor extension to its zero-sugar Monster Energy Ultra line. The flavor pairs passionfruit flavor with a citrus twist, officials said.

Full Sugar Formulation

Jones Soda Co., Seattle, extended its Mary Jones hemp-derived THC craft soda line with three new ZERO Sugar, zero calorie flavors: Berry Lemonade, Cola and Root Beer. The new ZERO Sugar line comes in sleek 12oz cans, while full-sugar fans can stick with more iconic 12oz cans. Both options are crafted with zero artificial colors

Sugar-Free Option

Naked Juice of Glendora Inc., Monrovia, Calif., said it refreshed its smoothie line of blends and more. Three new offerings are Coco Gauff's Protein Pineapple Orange, Strawberry Lemon Ginger Fiber and Tropical Greens Fiber. The company also revamped its Naked Machines line that are boosted with nutrients including fiber and essential vitamins and minerals including vitamins C, E, B6 and B12. Varieties include Green, Blue, Mighty Mango, Strawberry Banana, Pina Colada and Rainbow.

Naked's new “hyper-functional” line features Protein smoothies with less sugar and all-new Fiber smoothies designed to support gut health. Naked's Protein smoothies offer 20g of plant-based protein, now with 40% less sugar than the leading fruit. Protein flavors include Double Berry Protein, Tropical Protein and Protein Pineapple Orange. The new lineup also introduces Strawberry Lemon Ginger Fiber and Tropical Greens Fiber, which provide 9g of fiber to support gut health, with 45% less sugar than the leading fruit smoothie.

Drink Naked

Productive Health Co., Calistoga, Calif., said it developed new AUTOFOCUS “to deliver clean, sustained energy and mental clarity without the jitters or crash of traditional energy drinks or coffee.” The beverage has just six ingredients and pairs upcycled coffee fruit with L-theanine to help bodies “more evenly absorb caffeine for smoother, sustained energy.” Additional ingredients include black currant, stevia, citric acid and water.

"AUTOFOCUS was inspired by a life-changing yoga certification trip to Bali with my daughter, where we discovered a drink made from coffee fruit," said Trisha Ashworth, founder of Productive Health Co. "I was struck by how it gave me clear, steady energy and sharper focus without the crash or jitters. It became something I looked forward to every day; it was a way to stay present, engaged, and re-energized.”

Last fall saw Kowa Group, Nagoya, Japan, introduce Syncron, a performance and hydration brand. Officials said Kowa developed a line of pre- and post-workout drinks in collaboration with baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani, a three-time American League MVP, five-time All-Star, and 2024 World Series Champion. The caffeine-free offerings (Grapefruit, Watermelon Kiwi flavors) feature such functional ingredients as L-citrulline, L-arginine, taurine, and BCAAs. Initial distribution was to select retailers in Southern California followed by Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

"With Shohei's partnership, Syncron is redefining the performance beverage category by combining the right ingredients, mindful formulations, and sustainable packaging," said Jason Schwenck, managing director KOWA-Syncron. "We're excited to offer products that help consumers perform, recover, and thrive."
