Equipment Snapshot: The Syntegon IDH is based on a newly developed picker technology using linear motors. The flexible pick-and-place machine not only ensures gentle product handling, but also offers a compact design and high output with the option of loading different products both flat and on-edge.
With 30 cycles per minute, up to 40 pickers pick the products from the process belt and place them into a flow-wrapper infeed or into trays. The cookies and crackers are handled with minimal mechanical stress and vacuum application, preventing breakage or damage to the product surface and ensuring optimal production efficiency.
An integrated camera-based vision system detects the position and shape of the cookies and crackers on the infeed belt and transmits this information to the picker control system. It identifies different product patterns or random arrangements and processes them reliably. Each picker can be aligned individually to ensure all products are placed into trays or the infeed chain correctly. Moreover, an integrated mini buffer automatically fills incomplete product rows, thus increasing system efficiency.
Despite its compact dimensions, the IDH achieves a maximum output rate of up to 800 products per minute, combined with its low reject rate and short downtimes, this ensures high overall equipment effectiveness.

Two inclined cylinders mounted on pillow block bearings rotate end-over-end at 30 RPM, causing bulk material to fall, converge and divide with each rotation, achieving consistent blends in 15 to 30 minutes. Smooth interior surfaces allow unobstructed material flow, as well as complete discharge for thorough cleaning between changeovers.
The specialized model can blend materials having bulk densities up to 100 lb/cu ft (1.6 g/cm3) in capacities up to 8 qt (7.65 ℓ), and is equipped with an independently powered intensifier bar that breaks up soft agglomerates and improves diffusion of materials. Also available is a dispersion bar that sprays liquid additions onto the moving materials, minimizing cycle times required to achieve batch uniformity.
Housed in a safety-interlocked polycarbonate enclosure with lifting handles, the unit is constructed of carbon steel with stainless steel material contact surfaces finished to industrial standards. Also offered are all-stainless-steel, sanitary units finished to USDA, 3-A and pharmaceutical standards.

The Benchmix 10 is a compact benchtop unit with a mixing capacity of up to 1 gallon and mixing speeds up to 9,300 RPM. Due to the integrated Rotosolver mix head, homogenous, agglomerate-free product can be achieved in 10 minutes or even less for most applications. The Rotosolver mix head is designed to provide the optimal balance between shear and flow. A large and small upper impeller is included and can be mounted to the mixing shaft for even more flow in your mixing container. On the unit, a touchscreen interface, electronic lift, and a large speed dial make it easy to operate.
